MY HALF WAS ON THE BOTTOM
I would like to thank everybody for their kind comments on our first issue. As word of the all-new magazine spread throughout the fan community, we had an unexpected surge in subscriptions after the first mailout. This meant that a sizeable second print run was required to fulfil orders for the Summer issue. As a result, we decided to push production of the Winter magazine back a little to maintain the quality.
The Winter issue will now be published in January/February 2023, slightly later than initially advertised. We will ensure that next year’s magazines are shipped in June and November.
The next magazine will spotlight the boys’ 1929 talkie, Men O’ War and will feature exclusive articles by Richard W. Bann, Randy Skretvedt and Glenn Mitchell – so rest assured, it’ll be worth waiting for!
“Can’t You Grasp the Situation?”
THE 'SUNNY COMEDY'
Men O’ War is the ‘Film in Focus’ for our Winter 2022/23 issue. We are thrilled to present exclusive articles written and contributed by world-renowned Laurel and Hardy authors and experts Richard W. Bann and Randy Skretvedt. The two film historians share their remarkable insights into the production of the picture, gained from decades of research, including first–hand interviews with cast and crew from the Hal Roach studios.
In addition, we are also thrilled to feature a new article by film historian and author Glenn Mitchell and our esteemed editor Patrick Vasey will be chipping in for good measure. We also have our regular features, which include ‘Auction Watch’, which showcases interesting items that have come up on internet auctions since the last edition, and some marvellous rare items from The Hammond Collection. So much to look forward to – but remember, “we’ve only got fifteen cents!”.
“I just wanted to congratulate you on the new look mag and the priceless content! There is a lot of great reading in there!”
